COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater area man has been charged with three counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with alleged incidents with a girl under the age of 13.
76-year-old Howard Edward Marske was formally charged during an arraignment on Monday in Branch County District Court following an investigation by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation began in late January after a Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to interview the alleged victim and her mother.
According to Branch County court documents, the alleged victim did not state when the first incident began but the last one happened on January 27, 2024.
Bond was set at $25,000 and not guilty pleas were entered on behalf of the defendant.
Marske was ordered not to have any contact with the alleged victim if he posted bond. A probable cause hearing was scheduled for March 21 with a preliminary exam on March 26.
