COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council passed a resolution on Monday night that approves the submission of an application seeking a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the improvement project at Rotary Park.
The action came after a public hearing was held. No comments were made by members of the public.
The application deadline is next Monday, April 1, 2024.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be about $747,000. The city will be seeking a $400,000 grant which is the maximum under the D.N.R. program.
The City will allocate over $347,000 in future cannabis tax revenue as a local match.
City staff have been working on the proposed renovation of Rotary Park over the past two years.
The project will be done in two phases. The proposed application is supported by the Community’s 5-Year Approved Parks and Recreation Plan.
