COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A local non-profit group that promotes running presented plans for their first Labor Day weekend half marathon and 5K run to the Coldwater City Council on Monday night.
Nisha Ritchie and John Towers are the co-founders of Run Branch County.
Ritchie says their mission is to raise funds so they can provide youngsters with athletic scholarships throughout the county.
She says their first event is set for September 1 at Heritage Park.
Towers said the course will start and end at Heritage Park.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners gave their support to the group’s efforts last October.
Registrations will be accepted through August 31 at www.runsignup.com.
