COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council gave their permission on Monday night for Altrusa International of Branch County to add a bench sculpture in the northwest part of the downtown Four Corners Park.
Carrie Stout from Altrusa International said in addition to the flowers planted and maintained every year by club members, and with its focus on literacy, Altrusa
has raised funds to purchase a bench sculpture entitled “Reading Buddies” which celebrates reading.
The sculpture costs $19,000 and it is has been fully funded by Altrusa.
It being presented to the people of Coldwater as a symbol of Altrusa’s commitment to the community and its improvement.
The sculpture is made of bronze which will assure it will be around for generations to come.
Altrusa International of Branch County members have been maintaining the northwest corner of the Four Corners Park for 50 years.
