BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The rainy weather on Tuesday forced a number of Branch County high school sporting events to be called off as the spring sports seasons got off to a soggy start.
The Coldwater varsity baseball doubleheader with Vicksburg that was scheduled to be played at Lowe Field was cancelled.
The Coldwater-Vicksburg varsity girls softball doubleheader was postponed to Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. and the site has been switched to Vicksburg.
Also cancelled for Tuesday were Bronson’s varsity baseball game at Athens, the Bronson girls tennis match at Galesburg-Augusta, the Bronson at Quincy junior varsity baseball game and the Quincy varsity girls softball games at Clinton.
Union City’s varsity baseball and girls softball games against Colon were postponed to a date to be determined.
Union City’s J.V. baseball doubleheader with Battle Creek Pennfield was postponed until May 8 while the Union City J.V. softball game with Jonesville was postponed to a date to be determined.
Cancellations are being announced for the next couple of days thanks to the bad weather conditions which includes a forecast of snow showers on Wednesday.
Cancelled for Wednesday is Coldwater’s track and field meet at Vicksburg. The Union City track and field meet with Athens was postponed until May 13.
Quincy’s track and field meet scheduled for Thursday at Parma Western has also been cancelled.
