BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In keeping with the practice of regular routine water main cleaning, the City of Bronson has announced the flushing fire hydrants will take place on April 22 and 23.
City Manager Brandon Mersman says the flushing will begin 12:01 a.m. Monday morning April 22 for the section of Bronson north of U.S. 12 and on Tuesday morning April 23 at 12:01 a.m. for the part of the city south of U.S. 12.
The City apologizes for any inconveniences the flushing may cause. On occasion, the water in the areas of flushing may temporarily have a reddish/orange rusty appearance as flushing can disturb iron sediment in the water pipes and cause the discoloration.
If this take place, run your cold water at the tap closest to your water meter for several minutes to clear your lines.
The City of Bronson is advising the public to refrain from doing laundry during the two days the flushing will be taking place.
