Joan M. Twite, 92, of Coldwater passed onto her heavenly home Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Northview Christian Church with a luncheon to follow.
Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Alpena.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
She was born March 22, 1932 in Coldwater to George and Laura Genevieve (Burns) VanBlarcom. Joan married Thomas D. Twite in 1950 and he preceded her in death.
Joan graduated from Coldwater High School in 1950. She taught Sunday School at Ripley Blvd Baptist Church in Alpena for many years. When she and Thomas moved back to Coldwater she volunteered at H. & C. Burnside senior Center.
Joan loved being a nurses aide and a caregiver. She was a generous person and got joy in giving gifts to her family. Joan was an identical twin to Jean VanBlarcom, and they could be double trouble or a double blessing. She also loved cats and kittens and loved bird watching.
Joan is survived by one daughter, Kay (Greg) Bolduc of Hudsonville; two sons, Tim Twite of Coldwater, James (Ann) Twite of Arizona; one brother, Jerry (Letha) VanBlarcom; five grandchildren, Jason (Jackie) Twite, Brian Twite, Nathan (Margo) Bolduc, Jessica (Jason) Brown, Aaron (Emily) Bolduc and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, Joan was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark Twite; one sister, Jean VanBlarcom-Plettner and two brothers, Lynwood and Stanley VanBlarcom.
