Branch County Sheriff’s Department warns residents of latest phone scam

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department is telling residents to be aware of another scam involving the department.

They say if you receive a call from Fred Blankenship or another Sheriff’s Department employee stating that you are “wanted” for missing jury duty and they would like bond money, this is a scam.

Do not pay the scammers any money.

Nobody at the Sheriff’s Office will call you and want bond money over the phone at any time.
