COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The consultant chosen by Branch County Commissioners to conduct the search for a new County Administration went over what has to be done before the job is posted during the Commissioners work session on Thursday morning.
Chet Janik from the Michigan Leadership Institute stressed the need to set the salary up front.
Janik hopes to post the position by the end of the month after the job description and the salary are finalized.
Commission Chair Tim Stoll felt Janik needed to get input not only from Commissioners but other county employees as well.
Janik’s firm will help Commissioners find the successor for Bud Norman after he announced in January he would be retiring when his contract runs out at the end of the year.
Interviews with candidates are anticipated to start in June. With such an important decision they have to make, Janik urged Commissioners to not rush through the process.
The Michigan Leadership Institute facilitated the search in recent years for school superintendents in the Coldwater, Quincy and Union City school districts as well as the Branch I.S.D..
