COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Long time Branch County Sheriff’s Department Corrections Officer Guy Houtz has retired after over two decades of service.
He was honored during last Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting by his brother County Commissioner Jon Houtz.
Deputy Houtz began his career with Sheriff’s Office on September 27, 2000.
The Sheriff’s Department said in a post on their Facebook page that he has always been willing to pitch in to work overtime and rarely called in sick except when he contracted COVID-19.
Houtz had to spend several months in the hospital but he eventually recovered and returned to work.
