JAKARTA (Reuters) – Indonesia’s Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Friday the government will leave enough fiscal room in the 2025 budget for incoming president Prabowo Subianto’s free school meal programme.
She made the statement after attending a meeting with outgoing President Joko Widodo and other ministers on 2025 state budget. Prabowo’s free meal programme, a key campaign policy, could cost $7.7 billion in its first year, his team said in February.
