Dorothy and Hank have been married for 64 years. They met at the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds July 4th of 1960 and were married the following month. Dorothy and Hank quickly made Hemlock Lake their home for 46 years. There they raised their three children, Laurie, Julie, and Jeff. Dorothy and Hank stayed busy building and remodeling houses around the lake for family and friends. Dorothy had many hobbies that included building and painting yard ornaments, sewing, gardening, and keeping her yard the envy of the neighbors. For the past 17 years Dorothy and Hank reside in Totem Village where they get to enjoy their great grandchildren’s many activities. Dorothy remained active in her yard and garden. Her attention to detail was extraordinary and her house and yard were always ready for the Holidays.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Hank, her children, Laurie (Tom) VanDosen, Julie Shank, Jeff (Loni) Risk, 8 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice or to the North Reading Baptist Church.
