COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – 42-year-old Trevor Valentine Morey is making another trip to the Michigan Department of Corrections as he was sentenced on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
Morey was ordered to serve 23 months to five years in prison after he entered no contest pleas to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and assaulting/resisting/obstruction a police officer.
Prosecutors dismissed assault and possession of a dangerous weapon charges in exchange for his pleas.
Morey was given credit for 174 days already served.
Morey was arrested and charged last October following an investigation by Coldwater Police.
He has a criminal record that goes back to 2000.
