UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City School Board of Education selected Jeremy Steele to fill a vacancy on the board on Monday night which was created last month when Dave Mathis stepped down.
Steele was one of three candidates who expressed an interest in the position.
The other two candidates were Sean O’Kon and Edward DeLisle.
Steele was selected after the board interviewed all three candidates. Steele will serve the balance of Mathis’ term on the board which expires on December 31, 2024.
The seat will be up for election in November. Whoever is elected would serve a four year term.
Since Mathis was serving as the Board Treasurer, the board selected Paul Arlt to take over that officer’s position.
