ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A 39-year-old LaGrange, Indiana man was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly led police on a pursuit while driving a stolen vehicle in St. Joseph County.
St. Joseph County Undersheriff Jason Bingaman reports his department was involved in the pursuit after the vehicle was stolen in the 64000 block of Burgener Road in Florence Township.
Deputies along with the White Pigeon Police Department successfully deployed stop sticks several times.
The pursuit eventually ended after the suspect vehicle crashed into a utility pole.
The suspect then tried to flee the vehicle on foot and was taken into custody.
The man was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of motor vehicle theft, fleeing and eluding and felonious assault.
Assisting agencies were the White Pigeon and Constantine Police Departments.
