COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community School District now has three administrative positions that need to be filled.
The principal’s job at Coldwater High School has been posted after Ted Davis was officially hired last week as the new Superintendent of the Hillsdale Community School District.
The Hillsdale School Board approved his contract last Monday. Davis will start his new job on July 1.
He will be taking over for Shawn Vondra who is retiring at the end of the school year after serving Hillsdale Community Schools since 1988. He had been the district Superintendent for 13 years.
Davis was hired in May of 2023 to take over for Bill Milnes who retired last year.
Davis came to Coldwater after working in the the Midland Public School District since 2007.
Coldwater High School also needs an assistant principal as Krista Searls will be retiring on May 31 after 31 years of service to Coldwater Community Schools.
The other assistant principal opening is at Legg Middle School.
Julie Slusher retired as the school’s principal on February 29 after 11 years of service to the district. Her retirement was accepted during the January School Board meeting.
Jacob Kumor was then transitioned from Assistant Principal to the Legg Middle School Principal which created the assistant principal opening.
