COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals baseball team got a pair of Interstate 8 victories on Tuesday at Lowe Field as they swept the Marshall Red Hawks 6-4 and 12-8.
Lucas Wischmeyer’s two run single in the last of the fifth inning in the opening game snapped a 4-4 tie.
Brady Massey had two hits including a two-run homer in the first inning.
Evan Porter, Drake Thornton and Eddie Pool all had two hits.
Owen Tappenden was the winning pitcher in relief.
The Cardinals won the nightcap after falling behind 6-1 in the second inning.
They scored three runs in the second and took the lead for good with a five run third inning. Ethan Parker’s three run double put the Cardinals ahead for good.
Winning pitcher Dayton Ennis had three RBI’s on a two-run double and a single.
Porter and Massey both had two hits. Tappenden drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. Brayden Lackey earned the save and had an RBI single.
Coldwater is now 6-8 overall and 4-0 in the Interstate 8.
