COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The consultant who is conducting the search for a new Branch County Administrator went over the feedback with County Commissioners on Tuesday that he recently got from county officials about what they want in the next Administrator.
Chet Janik from the Michigan Leadership Institute said there were some common traits.
He indicated current Administrator Bud Norman may have taken on more than he could handle.
Janik and the Commissioners also reviewed a job description and a salary for the position. By consensus, Commissioners agreed to remove emergency management and building inspections from the administrator’s job description.
A salary range of $105,000 to $135,000 was discussed but no formal action was taken.
Janik’s firm is helping Commissioners find the successor for Norman who is retiring after 17 years when his contract runs out at the end of the year.
After applications are reviewed by a committee, interviews are anticipated to start in June.
The Michigan Leadership Institute facilitated the search in recent years for school superintendents in the Coldwater, Quincy and Union City school districts as well as in the Branch I.S.D..
