COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the second straight night, the Coldwater Cardinals split a baseball doubleheader with a Branch County rival on Friday night.
The Cardinals split a twin bill with Union City on Thursday and then split with Bronson on Friday night.
Coldwater defeated Bronson in the first game before the Vikings won game two. The final score in both games was 12-5.
First game winning pitcher Owen Tappenden of Coldwater helped his own cause with four RBI’s. Brayden Lackey and Logan Smiertka both had two hits for Coldwater. Logan Long had a three run triple for Bronson.
The Vikings used a eight run fifth inning to win the second game. Warner Wotta was the winning pitcher in relief.
James Jourdan had two hits for Bronson while Dawson Soergel had two RBIs. Coldwater got doubles from Drake Thornton and Lucas Wischmeyer.
