ELKHART COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – A small fixed wing aircraft that took off from the Branch County Memorial Airport in Coldwater crashed in Elkhart County, Indiana on Tuesday afternoon, killing two persons.
The plane went down near Bristol just before 2:20 p.m..
WNDU-TV in South Bend reports the plane flew from Elkhart to Coldwater where it landed at 12:22 p.m..
It left the Coldwater airport at around 1:40 p.m. and crashed about 40 minutes later near the Indiana Toll Road.
The names of those killed have not been released but family members told WNDU-TV one of the victims was Wendell Ridenour of Elkhart.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
