Roger E. Talant, 73, of Quincy, passed away at home Monday, April 29, 2024.
Funeral services will held Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Mark Case officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Dayburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 5 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Quincy.
He was born on December 11, 1950 to Clara Jean and Harold Talant, also of Quincy. Roger graduated from Quincy High School in 1969 and went on to proudly serve with the Army National Guard from 1971-1977. He was also an active member of the American Legion for over 40 years.
He married Kathleen (Taylor) in 1971 and had two children, Shanna (Kari) Talant of Wildomar, Ca. and Danube (Alyssa) Talant of San Diego, Ca. Roger worked for the Coldwater Regional Center for several years, as well as the State of Michigan before his retirement.
Later in life, He also enjoyed many years of love, laughter and companionship with Ms. Faye Breeze, whom proceeded him in death in 2015.
Always a fan of the outdoors, Rog truly enjoyed deer hunting on his family farm with his father and brother’s and fishing every lake he had the chance to visit.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents; Harold and Clara Jean Talant, brother, David Talant and long time companion, Faye Breeze.
He is survived by his two children, his grandson, Jackson, caring friends Charlie Spaulding, John Blevins, Rachelle Murphy and his best friend and older brother, Kenneth (Charlene) Talant of Utica.
