COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals girls track and field team got two wins while the boys squad got a split in a Interstate 8 triangular meet on Monday afternoon at Jackson Northwest.
Coldwater’s girls defeated Parma Western 102 1/2 to 59 1/2 and Jackson Northwest 122-33.
Coldwater winners were Ella Thompson (100), Miyah Moore (200), Ella Grabowski (400 and long jump), Grace Huff (800), Madilyn Persails (100 hurdles), Elli Foley (shot put and discus) and Ava Longstreet (pole vault).
The Coldwater girls won three out of four relays. Thompson, Persails, Longstreet and Abigail Robison won the 400, Huff, Jaelah Sloan, Grabowski and Moore won the 800 while the team of Sloan, Moore, Thompson and Huff won the 1600.
Coldwater’s boys defeated Jackson Northwest 119-44 but lost to Parma Western 112-51.
The only first place finish for Coldwater came from the 3200 relay team of Drew Vanderpuyl, Luke Aerts, Austin Accardi and Claudel Wischmeyer.
