JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals got a split of their Interstate 8 doubleheader at Jackson Northwest on Tuesday as they won the opener 1-0 but dropped the second game 15-10.
First game winning pitcher Mya Porter tossed a five-hitter and struck out nine.
The only Cardinal run came on a first inning RBI single by Mackenzie Searing. Maren DeBeau led the offense with three hits.
Coldwater could not overcome a nine run third inning for Northwest in the nightcap.
Brooklyn Closson had a three run homer for Coldwater in the second game.
The Cardinals are now 10-15 overall and 6-4 in the Interstate 8.
