QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles split a non league doubleheader with visiting Hillsdale on Thursday during Senior Night.
The Orioles won game one 13-2 in just five innings but lost the nightcap 8-6. The Orioles took a 6-3 lead into the seventh inning of game two but the Hornets scored five runs in the inning with four coming after there were two outs.
Mason Graves was the winning pitcher in the first game and he led the Quincy offense with two hits and four RBIs. Ethan Copas drove in three runs. Parker Fraley had an RBI double.
The Orioles managed just five hits in the second game with two each from Graves and Jimmy Maynard. Brennen Allman had an RBI single. Copas and Grant Holroyd added RBI ground outs. Landon Beardon threw four scoreless innings in relief for the Orioles.
The Orioles return to the diamond this Saturday participating in the Al Glick Invitational in Jackson.
