BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The soggy spring continued on Monday night as the Michigan State University Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm measured almost a quarter inch of rain between 9:00 p.m. and midnight.
That location has measured rainfall on 28 out of the last 50 days.
So far in May, the M.S.U. Extension weather station has recorded 2-point-7 inches of rain on 11 of the first 20 days of the month. May’s average rainfall in Branch County is 4.54 inches.
Rain was measured at that location on 17 out of the 30 days in April with a total of 4.11 inches which was about an inch higher than the normal rainfall for the month.
You won’t have to water your garden anytime soon. Just under seven inches of rain has been measured since April 1. The National Weather Service says there’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast every day through the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
