Phyllis L. Jenkins, 97, of Marshall, formerly of Union City, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Best Care Plus in Marshall.
A celebration of Phyllis’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Lighthouse of Tekonsha, 616 N. Main St. Tekonsha, MI, 49092 with Pastor Rob Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m., also at the Lighthouse.
Phyllis was born on May 5, 1927 in Tekonsha, Michigan to William “Van” and Myrtle (Foster) Schroll. She graduated from Tekonsha High School with the Class of 1945. Shortly after graduating, she married the love of her life, Lewis H. Jenkins, on May 15, 1947 in Albion, Michigan. Together they had five beautiful children and shared 66 years of marriage.
Her hobbies included crafting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Charles) Palmer of Clio, MI; her daughter-in-law Rita Jenkins of East Leroy; her eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and her nephew, Darrel Nichols.
In addition to her husband Lewis, she is preceded in death by her parents; her son Michael Jenkins; her daughter Laura M. Jones; her step-son Charles Jenkins; her step-daughter Janet K. Mahrle; her siblings, Mary Lewis, Joyce Nichols, Wanda Lingenier, William Schroll, Gordon Schroll and Jerry Schroll; and three grandchildren.
