BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County will be represented by 19 individuals and six relay teams on Saturday at the M.H.S.A.A. Lower Peninsula Track and Field Finals.
Coldwater’s contingent will be at the Division Two Finals in Hamilton. They include Elli Foley, who was a regional double winner in the girls discus and shot put, and Grace Huff who won the girls 800 in a school record time. Huff, Sloan, Ella Thompson, and Miyah Moore will be in the 800 relay after winning the regional title while Brianna Barle was a double winner in the girls adaptive 100 and 200 dashes. They will be joined by Ella Grabowski and Jaelah Sloan in the girls long jump, Jackson Reilly in the boys shot put and discus and Garrett McVicker in the boys shot put.
A total of 12 individuals and five relay teams will represent Branch County at the Division 3 Lower Peninsula Meet at Kent City.
Qualifiers from Union City include Hunter Sinke (boys 400), Nathaniel Maurer (boys 300 hurdles), Logan Cole (shot put and discus), Nevada Gillons (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump), all four boys relay teams, and the girls 400 relay team.
Two regional champions from Quincy will be competing. Brookelyn Parker won both of the regional girls hurdle races while Corey Turner won the boys pole vault. Also moving on for the Orioles were Clayton Benson (boys 110 hurdles, boys 300 hurdles and high jump), Alex Dunn (boys pole vault), and Kaleb Handy (boys pole vault).
Bronson qualifiers are Jaiden Hayes (girls 300 hurdles), Boston Bucklin (boys 800) and Kamron Brackett (boys high jump).
