COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County United Way will kickoff their fall campaign on September 13 with something different.
Their annual RadioThon which is carried live on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB will be held that day on South Monroe Street from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..
United Way President Nicole Vogler said during last Monday’s Coldwater City Council meeting that this event aims to raise funds and engage the community.
Council member Jim Knaack asked City Manager Keith Baker last Monday if there have been any complaints from businesses about South Monroe being shut down for special events in recent years.
The City Council approved a request from the United Way last Monday to close off South Monroe between U.S. 12 and West Pearl for the RadioThon.

I think this is a great thing. My only question is why can’t the farmers market be held on Monroe street? Seems like every other event can be on Monroe but the farmers market. It is such a well known address for Coldwater events.
