COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Another step in the renovation project at Rotary Park was taken by the Coldwater City Council last night.
The council approved a plan to their landscape architect to purchase of a prefabricated restroom building for Rotary Park, as the initial component of Phase 1 of the Rotary Park Redevelopment Project.
According to the architect and City Manager Keith Baker, prefabricated restrooms are a cost-effective way to quickly and efficiently install public restrooms. They say the 10 foot by 17 foot facility, which includes two unisex bathrooms, allows for quick installation, reduced cost, it’s compatible with poor soils, should reduce vandalism and maintenance, and should be available for delivery in 12 to 16 weeks
The Rotary Park project is being funded by the City’s allocation of the State of Michigan distribution of sales taxes collected on the sale of cannabis and included in the 2024-2025 city budget.
Baker says the $152,270 price tag is lower than the cost of the recently completed site-built downtown restroom building.
