COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Marion, Indiana man was placed on probation for 30 months in Branch County Circuit Court on Monday after what Coldwater Police called a “road rage” incident led to a stabbing on U.S. 12 at I-69 on August 19, 2023.
39-year-old Adam Wallis entered a no contest plea on June 17 to a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
During his probation, Wallis was ordered not to possess alcohol, drugs or weapons and he would have to stay out of bars. He was also ordered to pay over $5,000 in restitution.
According to Coldwater Police, Wallis and a 24-year-old man yelled at each other while travelling on U.S. 12. Wallis was a passenger in his brother’s Honda. A physical altercation took place after both vehicles stopped for a red light at the southbound ramps for I-69.
A comment on our web site following the original story called into question many parts of the Coldwater Police report and indicated the man who was stabbed swerved his Chevrolet pickup into the Wallis vehicle.
The man who was stabbed told police he thought Wallis was going to flee the scene, so he backed his pickup truck into the front of the Honda and totaled it to prevent it from leaving.
All this road rage is a reflection of our society today!
