BURR OAK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 40-year-old Sturgis man has been arrested following an investigation into the breaking and entering of a residence last week in St. Joseph County.
Undersheriff Jason Bingaman reports the break in took place last Thursday, July 25, in the 29000 block of Kelly Road.
During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Department found that over $1,000 worth of tools and a four-wheeler was stolen.
Deputies received information on Tuesday that the stolen property was possibly at a residence in the 200 block of Susan Avenue in Sturgis.
A search warrant was executed at that location which led to the discovery of all of the victim’s stolen property along with possible stolen property from other cases and methamphetamine.
Bingaman said, “When we work together to hold criminals responsible for their actions, we all have a safer community to live in”.
The suspect was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail. The Sturgis Department of Public Safety, Police Division, assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
