BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The three Branch County Commissioners who faced challenges in Tuesday’s Republican Primary all came out on top.
Randall Hazelbaker defeated Jessica Green in District One 640 to 375, Jon Houtz won over John Towers in District Two 869 to 456 while Alan McClellan defeated David Mansfield in District Five 683 to 552.
Rick Hollister won the District Four race over two other candidates. He had 812 votes. Richard Swanson was second with 278 votes while Brett Burtrum was third with 124 votes. Current District Four Commissioner Tom Matthew decided to run in the 35th District State House race.
Commission Chair Tim Stoll ran unopposed in District Three.
No Democrats filed for the Primary so as of now, all of the Tuesday winners will be unopposed on the November General Election ballot.
