BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – There were several nail biters among the various contested township races during Tuesday’s Primary.
Tracie Disbro won the Bethel Township Treasurer’s race by five votes over James Webb, 85-80.
The Bethel Township Trustee race was just as tight as Robin Kehoe and Jerry Haylett won the right to go onto the November General Election. Kehoe had 106 votes followed by Haylett with 102 votes and Norbert Drust with 99 votes.
Elsewhere, Sharon Atkinson won the G.O.P. Primary for Algansee Township Treasurer over Onalee Connin 191 to 148. Atkinson will face Democrat Kelli Kaufman in November.
Ben Losinski won the Ovid Township Supervisor race over Max Benjamin 278 to 249.
Robert Brott and William Courliss were the top two vote getters in the Republican Primary for Sherwood Township Trustee and will move onto the General Election. Donisha Leonard was third.
Bryan Washburn and Justin Johnson were the top two finishers in the G.O.P. Primary for Union Township Trustee and will move onto the November General Election ballot. Bobbi Snyder was third.
