COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was sent to the Michigan Department of Corrections on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after he entered no contest pleas to three charges.
21-year-old Skyler David Stage was ordered to serve concurrent sentences totaling 17 months to ten years.
He pled no contest to charges of assault to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with an incident in December of 2021 and to a February 2022 charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
Stage was given credit for 104 days already served in jail.
In exchange for his pleas, prosecutors dismissed counts of unlawful imprisonment, felony firearm and larceny in a building.
Stage is wanted on a warrant out of Steuben County, Indiana after he failed to appear for a sentencing hearing in June of 2023.
He was originally charged with domestic battery, neglect of a dependent, escape and possession of marijuana in connection with a November 2022 incident in Angola.
