COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has awarded rebate checks to Max Larsen Elementary School and Coldwater High School for over $36,000 through its Simply Efficient Energy Efficiency Program.
The CBPU Energy Efficiency program offers rebates for appliances, electronics, service, lighting and systems that improve and save energy. This program is available to any CBPU residential or commercial/industrial customer.
Coldwater High School was awarded $30,000 for installing a Variable Frequency drive on their HVAC Fan and programable smart thermostats, occupancy sensors and building temperature controls that can manage the entire building on one system.
Max Larsen Elementary School was awarded $6,417.92 for upgrading to LED lighting and adding some additional occupancy sensors to turn off lights when not in use.
Jefferson Elementary was awarded a rebate check last May of almost $14,000 for installing occupancy sensors and new LED exit signs, replacing old fluorescent and metal halide lightbulbs to LED bulbs, and installing Variable Frequency Drive on the fan of the HVAC system.
