THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson and Union City cross country teams competed on Tuesday at the Three Rivers Big Hill Invitational.
It was the second meet of the season for the Chargers while the Three Rivers meet was the season opener for the Vikings.
Bronson’s Ashlynn Harris won the girls meet with a time of 21:31. Her teammate Alonna Goodsell was 34th (25:32.8) while Lydia Wells was 35th (25:41.4) and Abbi Ferry was 56th (28:03) for the Vikings but they did not have runners for a team score.
Union City was third out of nine teams in the girls meet. Plainwell was first with 45 points followed by Paw Paw with 75 points and Union City with 90.
The Chargers had four finishers in the top 30 led by Allison Gautsche (22:16) and Skyler Fraley (22:17.1) who were sixth and seventh respectively. Alissa Skirka was 22nd (24:15.2) and Parker Williams was 30th (25:10.1).
Union City was fifth out of 15 teams in the boys meet while Bronson was tenth.
The Chargers had four runners finish in the top 30 led by Ben Gautsche who was tenth with a time of 18:00.8.
Jason Shoop was 25th (19:14.8) while Malachi Payne was 28th (19:37.4) and Cullen Decker was 29th (19:38.1)
Bronson was led by Tyler Wilber who was 35th with a time of 20:16.5. Adam Franks was 38th (20:23.8), Brayton Cosby was 53rd (21:24.1) and Carter Sikorski was 55th (21:26.6).
