COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Paul Flynn told the district’s Board of Education on Monday that discussions are continuing concerning the operation of the Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center.
It was revealed earlier this summer that the operation of the pool was in the red by over $300,000 per year.
District officials were working with the City of Coldwater and others to find new ways to fund the Aquatic Center.
Flynn indicated one option being explored is a full time manager of the facility.
School Board President Ed Lake asked Flynn about the use of swim team members as life guards.
The late Dr. Brown donated money for the construction of the aquatic center on Western Avenue. It is owned by the City of Coldwater, with operation and maintenance handled by the school district.
