UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City could soon have a dog park. The Union City Park Board voted on Wednesday to recommend to the Village Council the addition of a dog park on the west side of Riverview Park.
According to a post on the village’s Facebook page, the board has been looking at adding a nearly 8,000 square foot dog park.
They have also researched other parks as well as the cost and feasibility in recent months.
The project would cost about $14,000 and would be paid for by utilizing funding from the Village’s marijuana licensing program.
Those funds have been used for such improvements as the purchase of a fire truck, the expansion of the pickleball court at the park, a widespread sidewalk improvement project and new concrete for park pavilions.
