HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy woman was booked into the Hillsdale County Jail on Thursday after the Hillsdale County Prosecutors Office filed charges in connection with a May 19 crash that injured a motorcycle driver and his passenger.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says 38-year-old Tairum Lee-Ann Smith was arrested on a felony warrant for Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury and Driving While License was Suspended.
Bond has been set at $100,000 with 10 percent allowed.
The Sheriff’s Department says the crash took place at the intersection of East Bacon and Jerome Roads.
Deputies determined that a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by Smith which contained three passengers pulled out from North Jerome Road onto East Bacon Road and struck a westbound 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 62-year-old Mark Bice of Brooklyn.
He was taken to Hillsdale Hospital while his passenger, 60-year-old Beverly Bice, was air lifted by Life Flight to Michigan Medicine.
Smith and the passengers in the car were not injured
