COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A buyer has been found for ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
It was announced on Monday morning that the Flint-based Insight Health System has signed a purchase agreement to acquire the hospital.
Insight currently operates hospitals and healthcare facilities in Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, Iowa and Illinois.
According to a news release, the transaction is expected to close on or before November 1, 2024, and all hospital operations will transfer to Insight upon completion of the transaction.
Insight is a nonprofit healthcare provider which aims to increase its growing presence in Michigan and elevate its clinical competencies in the region.
Insight Health Chief Strategy Officer Atif Bawahab says, “We are grateful to ProMedica and Coldwater Regional Hospital leadership teams for their dedication and commitment to ensuring a smooth transition over the coming months. We look forward to partnering with the team to continue to grow the hospital’s world-class compassionate care and deepen the connections and impact within the Coldwater community.”
Following the transaction, Insight plans to keep current Hospital president Dan Schwanke and the remainder of the current leadership team intact and they plan a smooth transition for the hospital’s patients, employees, providers, and the surrounding community.
