COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday night’s City Council meeting that the city continues to experience various levels of vandalism in public parks.
This includes the fire pit area at Four Corners Park in downtown Coldwater.
Vandalism continues to be reported at the restrooms at both Parkhurst Park and near the Little League diamonds and Disk Golf area at Heritage Park.
Residents are asked to call 911 if they see anyone committing acts of vandalism or the City offices at 279-9501 to report any damage.

I’m sorry, but I thought putting a firepit at the Four Corners park was not a wise idea – it was a calling card for vandalism…. I feel the same about a proposed fountain by the library/courthouse. Unfortunately, today’s society is not amenable to having nice things constructed for all to enjoy… so sad….The only thing that would combat this trend would be to assign a guard at each site. Perhaps look at recruiting reserve officers, or even students enrolled in law enforcement classes , to volunteer to watch during the night . Just a suggestion….
