COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two Fort Wayne suspects wanted in connection with a August 3 fatal boating crash on Coldwater Lake turned themselves in at the Branch County Jail on Thursday night.
44-year-old Zachary Asher Adams and 43-year-old Tasha Monque Adams had been wanted on warrants that were issued by the Branch County Prosecutors office.

Both were booked at the Branch County Jail and released on bond. Zachary Adams has a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Tasha Adams cash or surety bond was $2,500.
Zachary Adams was booked on charges of fourth degree child abuse, false report of a felony, negligent crippling homicide, negligent operation of a vessel and reckless skiing.
Tasha Adams was booked for false report of a felony, accessory after the fact of a felony and conspiracy to commit a false report of felony.
Their Branch County District Court arraignments are scheduled for October 21.
The Adams are suspects in the boating accident that took the life of 46-year-old Cory Butler of Grabill Indiana.
Butler died from his injuries at a Kalamazoo hospital following a collision involving two speed boats on Coldwater Lake near Pearl Beach and the south Pearl Road area.
The Sheriff’s Department said at the time of the collision that a boat driven by a 15-year-old from Fort Wayne wound up on top of the second boat being driven by Butler.
The first boat had seven other passengers while the second boat had three other passengers. Some had minor injuries but except for Butler, no one else needed to be taken to the hospital.
The 15-year-old driver of the first boat was initially is listed as suspect in the crash.
