COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners are scheduled to consider bids from Abonmarche Byce for renovations to the Circuit, District and Probate Courts during their October 17 work session.
The Board discussed the presentation from representatives of the firm last week and asked questions about what renovations are essential and what are cosmetic.
Circuit Court Judge Bill O’Grady said during Tuesday’s meeting the courtrooms are long overdue for renovations to meet A.D.A. compliance.
O’Grady indicated he was no fan of the current set up in his courtroom.
It was moved and seconded by Commissioners last Thursday to bring forward a $2-point-8 million design and engineering bid but during a discussion of the motion, it was stated this was the first opportunity Commissioners had to view the renovation plans.
Commissioners decided that a tour of the courtrooms might be appropriate to view the proposed renovations. The motion was tabled until after the tours of the courtrooms.
