QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater couple will be using their big rig to deliver disaster assistance to victims of hurricane Helene.
Joe Gibson, his wife, and another friend are coordinating the effort through the North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Gibson will have his 53 foot tractor trailer parked behind the Quincy Fire Station this Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. to collect donations. North Carolina officials are asking for cold weather camping gear, gloves, tarps, water, flashlights, diapers, and non-perishable food.
His wife went shopping for those items Wednesday with money already donated by businesses and individuals around Branch County.
If the trailer is filled Saturday, Gibson plans to leave for North Carolina Sunday morning.
