QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – An Elkhart, Indiana woman was injured on Tuesday morning when she crashed into the back of a Republic garbage truck.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office reports the crash was reported at 6:18 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 12 and Briggs Road.
They say 56-year-old Eric Donald Bartlett of Bellevue, Michigan was waiting to turn his garbage truck from U.S. 12 to Briggs Road when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2009 Kia Rio driven by 55-year-old Jackie Ann Barnes.
Barnes sustained non -life threatening injuries. She was attended to by LifeCare Medics and Quincy Fire Department personnel.
Barnes was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation. Deputies were assisted by the Quincy Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance and VIP Towing.
