Susan Marie Miller, 70, of Colon passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home in Colon.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Terry Siler officiating at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson. Interment will follow the service at Bronson Cemetery.
The family will receive guests for visitation Monday, October 21, 2024 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
She was born December 22, 1953 to Walter and Helen (VanVorst) VanAken in Sturgis, MI. Susan was a graduate of Bronson High School, class of 1972. July 1, 2005 she married Darrell L. Miller, her high school sweetheart and he survives.
She was a warm-hearted woman that cleaned houses, worked at the Bronson Post Office, and ultimately retired from Thurston Woods Nursing facility after many dedicated years of service.
Susan attended the Bronson United Methodist Church and was very active in the Branch County 4-H. Susan always welcomed everyone with a smile, open arms, and a heart full of love; this only complemented her life of the party attitude that she loved to share with friends and family in countless nights of karaoke and endless garage sales and auctions.
She will be dearly missed as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her husband, Darrell Miller of Colon, Susan leaves behind her children Karla (Jason Blue) Ball of Union City, Ryan Eaton of Colon, Jr. (Holly) Miller of Allen, A.J. (Tiffiny) Miller of TX, Joshua (Amanda) Miller of Kinderhook, Patrick (Melissa) Miller, Quinton Miller, Adam Miller all of Coldwater; her brother Jim (Sharon) VanAken of Bronson; her grandson Karson Blue along with 19 other grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, her special nieces and nephews Deborah (Clayton) Myers, Tim (Megan) Barnes, Dawn VanAken, Troy VanAken, Jason VanAken, and many more loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her sister Mary Jane Barnes, and her aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family. Checks may be made payable to Darrell Miller.
