Jon Robert Baade, 82, of Allen passed away in his home Saturday, October 19, 2024.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 12:00-6:00 p.m. at the Baade Fabrication-Engineering Shop at 210 South Ray Quincy Road, Quincy, MI 49082.
Arrangements are entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born on October 8, 1942, in Muncie, Indiana, to Robert and Velma (Goheen) Baade. Jon married Judith Latta on June 20, 1986, and she survives.
Jon was a talented engineer and he used his skills and talents to become the owner and operator of Baade Fabrication-Engineering. Jon gave 60 years to his business, then upon retirement, he passed it down to his son-in-law to continue the family legacy.
When Jon wasn’t working, he could be found up in Wolverine, Michigan at his family cabin that he had built up over many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and walking trails with his dogs “Emmy” and “Ellie”.
He was a tinkering man who could fix anything and always had the right answers. He especially cherished his family, and the time spent in nature with them all.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Judy Baade; 5 children, Melissa Black, Laurie Banker, Julie (John) Maas, Rebecca (Timothy) Sanford, and Toby Baade; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Jon is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Baade; one son-in-law, Steve Banker; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and one great-great-grandchild.
