COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Match on Main project at the Hope Cafe in downtown Coldwater has been completed.
Coldwater Main Street Director Audrey Tappenden updated the Downtown Development Authority Board on Wednesday.
The Hope Cafe received a $20,278 grant in July under the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s (MEDC) Match on Main program.
The money was to be used for enhancing the location. The project included the addition of tables and chairs, outdoor seating, two new ovens, catering equipment, and several small coolers. The website was also updated.
The grant was officially announced on the second anniversary of the Hope Cafe’s opening at 49 West Chicago.
The Hope Cafe is operated by the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
The coalition applied for the grant through the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority. It was one of 31 small businesses to receive grants in this round of the program.
