SPRINGPORT, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings gained a share of the Big 8 Conference girls volleyball championship with Concord on Saturday as they won the conference tournament hosted by Springport.
The format for the tournament was changed to single elimination with best-of-five matches.
The Vikings swept all three of their matches in the revised Big 8 tournament. They defeated Springport 25-11, 25-10, 25-14, Reading 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 and Concord 25-14, 25-13, 25-19.
The win over Concord avenged a five set loss to the Yellow Jackets earlier in the week.

Quincy got to the tournament semifinals. They defeated Union City three games to one by scores of 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-23 before they lost to Concord three games to nothing by scores of 23-25, 12-25, 15-25.
There were a couple of Quincy personal milestones. Danika Skirka recorded her 500th career kill while Olivia Davenport set a new career record for digs. She now has 1,193 digs which broke the old record of 1,178.
