COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A discussion and workshop regarding the Zoning Ordinance for temporary and downtown signs is on Monday night’s agenda for the Coldwater Planning Commission.
Consultants from McKenna and Associates say in a letter to city officials that modifications to regulations pertaining to temporary signs and downtown signs are in need of review.
A review of the entire sign ordinance was conducted. Senior Planner Kyle Mucha from McKenna says further discussion and analysis is recommended to be undertaken with the Downtown Development Authority and/or the Historic District Commission to compile preliminary comments regarding sign regulation modifications.
Mucha adds, “Given that the downtown area is a draw for residents, businesses and community stakeholders, it is anticipated that further outreach with community partners is needed.”

If garage sale signs are not allowed….neither should political signs. Esp’ ones that block view at corners. ( can name two)
